About the Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer remote to join our dedicated team at ERMCO. As a leading manufacturer of distribution transformers and engineered electrical solutions, ERMCO is committed to delivering reliable, high-quality products that power homes and businesses across North America. In this role, you will provide essential manufacturing engineering support to our factory, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Manage capital projects to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion.
  • Design, procure, and commission equipment based on product design specifications.
  • Train operators and maintenance technicians on new processes and equipment.
  • Perform audits of production lines to ensure operators have the necessary tools for success.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard work instructions for all equipment and processes.
  • Lead teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for safety and quality issues.
  • Analyze process flows to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Update factory layouts and schematics as needed.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting equipment and recommending preventive maintenance.
  • Apply statistical tools to measure and improve product and process performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Agricultural, or similar) with 2-5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Alternatively, an Associate's degree in Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and drafting software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting PLCs, AC/DC drives, servos, and industrial control devices.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with statistical process control.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma.
  • Project management experience.
