About the Role

We're hiring a Manager, Policy & Government Relations to join our team at Kraken and help shape the future of crypto. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to influence policy outcomes in Canada and drive the adoption of digital assets.

What You'll Do

  • Develop Kraken’s policy positions in Canada to help influence policy outcomes.
  • Educate policymakers, institutions, government bodies, and regulators on the evolution of digital assets and Kraken’s role.
  • Draft comment letters, consultation responses, and policy papers advocating for responsible innovation in the digital assets space.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with Canadian policymakers, regulators, and industry influencers.
  • Monitor, analyze, and engage on relevant legislative and regulatory initiatives impacting digital assets and financial services in Canada.
  • Participate in and represent Kraken at industry events, forums, and regulatory roundtables.
  • Collaborate with regulatory, compliance, communications, and product teams to align policy strategy with business priorities.
  • Provide timely updates and clear analysis to internal teams and senior leaders on policy developments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory engagement, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of Canada’s financial services and digital asset regulatory landscape.
  • Experience engaging with Canadian policymakers and regulators.
  • Proficient in drafting policy documents and articulating complex topics about digital assets.
  • A strong personal network within Canadian government and regulatory bodies is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to represent Kraken at events and conferences (up to 10% of time).
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French is a plus.

  • Passion for the cryptocurrency world and a learning mindset about new crypto industry trends.
  • Ability to build meaningful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
