About the Role

We are seeking a Manager of HR Portfolio Team to join Ally Financial in a remote capacity. In this role, you will lead a team of Project Managers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects while fostering a culture of growth and development. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining high standards of project execution using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of Project Managers, focusing on hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
  • Provide actionable feedback to support the professional growth of your team members.
  • Review project backlogs for readiness and address any blockers that may hinder progress.
  • Serve as an escalation point for HR Portfolio risks and issues, driving mitigation plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the COEs and Workday Development Team, to maintain a healthy project backlog.
  • Participate in project ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of portfolio processes and tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Deliver concise status updates tailored to various audiences, including senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in project management or a related field.
  • Experience managing cross-functional project teams and leading a team of professionals.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience with project management tools like Jira.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information to diverse audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as CSM, CSPO, PMP, or CAPM.
  • Experience in HR project management and understanding of HR processes.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and information.
