- Plan and manage project cargo and heavy-lift operations, including chartering, scheduling, loading/unloading, and documentation, where relevant.
- Monitor performance metrics: transit times, port handling efficiency, storage utilization, costs, compliance, and quality control.
- Develop logistics plans and strategies to optimize supply chain routes, minimize costs, and improve delivery times.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (local maritime, customs, import/export regulations, safety, documentation, etc.).
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in logistics, shipping, or maritime operations (e.g., port operations, shipping agency, freight forwarding, supply chain), preferably with exposure to African markets.
- Strong knowledge of maritime operations, port procedures, freight forwarding, customs processes, documentation, and supply chain logistics.
- Experience with project cargo, heavy-lift, or chartering is an advantage.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and import/export compliance.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; able to manage multiple shipments and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership or team-management ability, with strong communication and coordination skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle operational challenges or delays.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with port authorities, clients, partners, and internal teams across time zones.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, maritime studies, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the oil & gas sector or heavy-lift logistics.
- Fluency in French is a plus.
