About the Role

Leidos is excited to announce a new opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer remote position within our Intel Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). Join our talented team at the forefront of Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations (CNO), and more. As a Lead Software Engineer remote, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and deploying a large-scale Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system.

What You'll Do

• Provide hands-on support and leadership to development teams, driving technical execution of complex software development programs.
• Architect and implement advanced software solutions while ensuring high quality and security of the codebase.
• Establish technical standards and best practices, mentoring software engineers through regular code reviews.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from deployment to ensure timely and on-scope delivery.
• Debug and resolve critical production issues while recommending improvements to system architecture and development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline with at least 12 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 10 years leading multiple software development teams while also contributing as a hands-on developer.
• Extensive experience with Java and familiarity with frameworks like Spring, Jackson, and JavaFX.
• Experience with languages such as JavaScript, C/C++, and SQL.
• Proficient in development IDEs like Eclipse and Visual Studio Code.

Nice to Have

• Experience in military Satellite Communications (SATCOM) organizations.
• Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and key management technologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile methodologies.
