Lead Hardware Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer to join our innovative team at Anduril Industries. This Lead Hardware Engineer remote position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense technology that transforms military capabilities. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of defense systems through advanced hardware architecture and development.

What You'll Do

• Own concept design and hardware architecture decisions for new engineering efforts.
• Partner with Chief Engineers and product teams to align engineering execution with broader mission and capability goals.
• Lead engineering execution across hardware engineering disciplines, utilizing your deep engineering skillset in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, and Firmware disciplines.
• Drive products toward New Product Introduction (NPI) - lead initial builds, own clear to build, and drive procedure and process generation.
• Oversee the detailed continuous improvement roadmap and execution, ensuring timely and robust responses to field issues.
• Prioritize tasks within and across products in a mission area, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Requirements

• A degree in a technical field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, optical engineering, systems engineering, math, or a hard science.
• 12+ years of experience in developing and deploying electromechanical systems, including system design, architecture definition, and performance modeling.
• Experience managing New Product Introduction and exposure to system sustainment at scale.
• Proven experience leading high-performance engineering teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
• Willingness to travel to test sites as needed.

Nice to Have

• Experience defining and/or designing optical/imaging systems.
• Knowledge of current and next-generation advanced sensing systems and platforms.
• Hands-on experience with advanced design tools, simulation, and test equipment.
