AI/​ML Backend Engineer - LLMs & Agentic AI (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Backend Engineer to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. As an AI/ML Backend Engineer remote, you will have the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including LLMs and agentic AI systems, while contributing to a well-funded startup that is making significant strides in the AI industry.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems that power AI agents and conversational workflows.
• Develop scalable services using Python and FastAPI in production environments.
• Architect real-time retrieval systems utilizing embeddings and vector search technologies.
• Integrate third-party systems, including CRMs and APIs, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.
• Own performance, reliability, and system scalability end-to-end, ensuring robust and efficient backend solutions.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled developers to shape the future of AI-driven voice and chat platforms.

Requirements

• Strong Python skills, with experience in FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Proven experience building with LLMs in production, including agent loops and tool calling.
• Deep understanding of embeddings, vector search, and retrieval systems.
• Experience designing agent workflows and frameworks.
• Ability to think in reusable, multi-tenant patterns.
• Familiarity with building integrations against third-party APIs (CRMs, webhooks, OAuth flows).
