Lead Engineer - Remote Role with AI and Laravel Focus

About the Role

As a Lead Engineer in this remote position, you'll lead a small squad of engineers to deliver impactful software solutions. This role involves setting direction, making pragmatic technical decisions, and ensuring your team ships reliably. You will be hands-on, writing code, reviewing submissions, and owning architectural choices while being accountable for outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Lead your squad in delivering high-quality software, focusing on Laravel/PHP for backend development and Vue.js for frontend.
• Define milestones and ensure steady shipping while removing blockers to maintain a predictable operating rhythm.
• Make and communicate architectural decisions that align with our technical principles, ensuring safety and clarity.
• Coach engineers through pairing, reviews, and feedback to elevate the team's performance without creating bureaucracy.
• Utilize AI tools to accelerate development and operational workflows, setting the standard for your squad.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong backend/full-stack capability with Laravel/PHP, API design, and system design.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and observability tooling.
• Excellent written communication skills for documenting decisions and aligning stakeholders.
• Curiosity about AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Copilot, or Claude.
