Junior Yachting Surveyor - Remote Opportunity

RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Yachting Surveyor to join its office in Viareggio, Italy. What You'll Do

• Conduct routine surveys on classed ships, platforms, or marine structures under the guidance of experienced surveyors.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys, ensuring compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
• Maintain survey files in an organized manner within your area of responsibility.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance your knowledge and skills relevant to surveying practices.
• Collaborate with experienced surveyors to ensure accurate and effective survey outcomes.
• Participate in team activities and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
• Assist in maintaining the quality of surveying work under the guidance of senior surveyors.
• Engage with clients as directed, contributing to problem-solving within your area of expertise.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in English relevant to classification and statutory certification.
• Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, and statutory regulations.
• Basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.
• Understanding of engineering plans and the ability to perform new building surveys.
• Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and machinery.
• Familiarity with computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice to Have

• Experience in marine surveying or a related field.
• Knowledge of additional languages.
• Previous internships or training in a marine environment.
