IT Consultant - Government Software Solutions

About the Role

We're hiring an IT Consultant to join our team at Cogent Infotech. As an IT Consultant, you will play a crucial role in implementing software solutions for government agencies, ensuring that their technical needs are met effectively. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills, allowing you to engage with clients and understand their unique requirements. What You'll Do

• Consult with government agencies to assess their business needs and implement software solutions that enhance customer service.
• Work collaboratively with your team to problem-solve and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Configure client-specific functionalities using tools within the software’s user interface, as well as VB.Net or C#.
• Create and modify SQL queries to efficiently retrieve data from relational databases.
• Participate in the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering to production support.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies when handling sensitive client information.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills while delivering information at both high and technical levels.
• Identify and investigate complex issues to develop effective solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Experience in a .NET or similar development environment (Java, C#, C, or C++).
• Exposure to SQL in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar database management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a charismatic personality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Openness to relocating every 2-3 years for different project locations throughout the US.

Nice to Have

• Experience with government software implementations.
• Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
• Previous consulting experience.
