IT License Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an IT License Specialist to join our team remotely. In this role, you will support the development and continuous improvement of our license management system and tools. As an IT License Specialist, you will oversee the entire license lifecycle—from procurement to usage and decommissioning. Your expertise will ensure compliance and facilitate the creation of license balances, measurements, and evaluations.

What You'll Do

• Manage the license lifecycle, ensuring compliance and effective tracking of licenses.
• Maintain and update a central overview of licenses and contracts, assisting in license audits and manufacturer audits.
• Collaborate closely with IT teams, departments, procurement, and legal to provide internal consulting on licensing issues.
• Support tenders, offer evaluations, and contract negotiations, acting as a point of contact for software manufacturers and external service providers.
• Actively participate in the operational ticket processing of the IT sourcing team, ensuring structured and efficient handling of sourcing and licensing inquiries.
• Drive the standardization and professionalization of processes, identifying optimization and savings potentials in the licensing environment.

Requirements

• Completed training or degree in IT, business, or a related field.
• Experience in license management, IT sourcing, software procurement, or Software Asset Management (SAM).
• Basic understanding of common licensing models and IT compliance topics, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Structured, analytical, and self-reliant working style.
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of cross-departmental collaboration.
• Proficient in English (B2 level) for collaboration with international partners.
• Good MS Office skills; experience with SAP or service management tools is a plus.
