Information Assurance Specialist - Remote Cybersecurity Role

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Information Assurance Specialist to join our team in a remote capacity. As an Information Assurance Specialist, you will implement and enforce all DoD Information Assurance (IA) program policies and procedures for DFAS systems. This role is crucial for maintaining the security and integrity of our information systems.

What You'll Do

• Implement and enforce DoD IA program policies and procedures.
• Serve as the IA point of contact for internal and external audit organizations.
• Oversee the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for information systems security.
• Analyze system specifications and trouble reports to determine impact on system functions.
• Coordinate with security analysts, IT specialists, and financial personnel regarding system accreditation processes.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level in the federal service.
• Experience in conducting information systems security evaluations and audits.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral communication skills for briefing management and IT staff.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Knowledge of IT security policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with security certification and accreditation documentation.
