Head of People Operations - Remote Opportunity at Mercor

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of People Operations to join Mercor, a pioneering company at the forefront of AI development. This remote Head of People Operations role will allow you to lead our people function while working with a dynamic team dedicated to redefining the future of work.

What You'll Do

• Own the operational backbone of our people function, combining traditional HR leadership with operational problem solving across a global workforce.
• Design and implement systems, policies, and processes that enable Mercor to scale rapidly while maintaining a high-performance culture.
• Manage and optimize Mercor’s HR systems including HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and internal data infrastructure.
• Oversee the employee lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, role changes, and performance review cycles.
• Establish reliable and scalable HR processes as the company grows.
• Ensure compliance with local employment laws and requirements, partnering with legal and finance on international payroll compliance and immigration matters.
• Provide reporting and analytics on headcount, retention, attrition, performance, and planning.
• Support Mercor employees across various HR topics while building the HR team.

Requirements

• 8 - 10+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or related operational roles in fast-paced, hyper-growth technology companies.
• Experience supporting international workforces, particularly in regions like India.
• Exceptional ability to manage ambiguity and create structure in a dynamic environment with multiple parallel priorities.
• Strong understanding of employment compliance and HR operations.
• Systems-oriented mindset with a passion for building scalable processes and infrastructure.
• High integrity and discretion in managing sensitive employee data and situations.
• Strong partnership skills with leadership teams and comfort in operating with significant ownership.

• Base compensation of $170K - $225K annually.
