Head of IT Project Delivery - Relocate to Cairns

We are seeking a Head of IT Project Delivery to join our team and lead a significant IT uplift project in Cairns, Australia. This remote role provides an exciting opportunity to manage large-scale IT infrastructure improvements across regional aviation hubs. What You'll Do

• Lead the Project Delivery Team, overseeing multiple IT project lifecycles including SAFe Agile and SDLC.
• Act as the key technology partner to business stakeholders for all IT projects relating to the IT infrastructure capability uplift program.
• Establish and manage the operating model for portfolio prioritization and pipeline governance.
• Develop investment funding requests and lead IT project CAPEX submissions.
• Directly oversee Project Managers to ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Implement and manage risk management frameworks and cybersecurity policies.
• Track and report on business benefits and ROI against original project investments.
• Set annual performance targets and conduct reviews for the delivery team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7+ years in tech/digital delivery, including at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience in Program/Project Management within the asset and/or infrastructure industries, preferably in the aviation sector.
• Strong technical knowledge of airport systems, digital platforms, and technology delivery practices.
• Professional certifications such as PMP/PMI; experience with Agile transformation and Design Thinking is highly regarded.
• Financially savvy with direct experience in budget ownership, CAPEX submissions, and ROI reporting.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and vendor management.

Nice to Have

• Aviation industry experience is desirable.
• Experience with agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
• Strong leadership experience in cross-functional teams on complex programs.
