Head of Design - Remote Opportunity at FamPay

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Design to join FamPay, India's first payments app for users aged 11 and above. This Head of Design remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead our design efforts and shape the user experience for a generation that is just starting their financial journey.

What You'll Do

• Be the user’s advocate, ensuring that design solutions meet user needs and enhance their experience.
• Collaborate directly with founders and the leadership group to align design strategies with business objectives.
• Lead and grow the design team, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
• Work cross-functionally with product, marketing, brand, engineering, and research teams to create cohesive design solutions.
• Evangelize FamPay’s mission, vision, and design philosophy across the organization.
• Oversee the design process from research to production, ensuring high-quality output that resonates with our target audience.
• Mentor team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
• Make informed, fast decisions that drive design excellence and align with user needs.

Requirements

• Strong experience in consumer product design with a solid portfolio demonstrating your design craft.
• Proven track record of working on successful brands and products.
• Excellent product and business acumen, with the ability to think user-backwards.
• Experience in team management and mentoring, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Bias for action with a focus on fast, informed decision-making.
• Ability to advocate for users in trade-off decisions, ensuring their needs are prioritized.
• Experience in leading design teams and collaborating with cross-functional groups.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the FinTech industry or with financial products.
• Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing.
• Knowledge of design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
