Associate Product Designer - Remote Opportunity at Niche

About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Product Designer to join our team at Niche. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of simplifying the school search process for millions of families. As an Associate Product Designer, you'll collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional teams to create user flows, interfaces, and prototypes that enhance user experience and drive product goals.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate the current state user experience and identify UX/UI issues in collaboration with Product, Data, and Engineering teams.
• Support senior designers by creating user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes that address user and business needs.
• Assist with usability research to test solutions and apply findings to your designs.
• Create clear design specifications and collaborate with engineers for smooth implementation.
• Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to iterate on shipped experiences and improve performance.
• Participate in design critiques and team rituals, contributing to a collaborative environment.
• Support the documentation and maintenance of design patterns in partnership with senior designers.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional experience in a product/UX design role.
• A portfolio showcasing user flows, interface designs, and prototypes.
• Familiarity with Figma and modern design tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for craft and quality.
• Curiosity about user behavior and mental models.
• Ability to balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
• Resilience and flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with visual design for digital products.
• Familiarity with design systems and component libraries.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting data.
