About the Role

We're looking for a visionary Head of Artificial Intelligence to join our team at Modern Health. This Head of Artificial Intelligence remote position is pivotal in leading the integration of AI across our innovative mental health platform. You will define and drive the strategic roadmap to embed AI into our core product experience, unlocking meaningful differentiation and customer value while ensuring responsible, scalable adoption.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for AI integration, enhancing customer value and market leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to identify high-impact opportunities where AI can improve user outcomes.
  • Establish principles to ensure AI capabilities are trustworthy, explainable, and aligned with company values.
  • Lead the delivery of high-priority AI initiatives from concept through production, ensuring measurable business impact.
  • Architect scalable AI solutions and maintain a strong bias toward practical implementation and rapid experimentation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align on execution, governance, and risk management.
  • Engage with clients and strategic partners to build trust and incorporate feedback into our AI approach.
  • Champion the use of AI to improve engineering productivity and encourage best-practice sharing.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, high-impact systems and integrating AI into production products.
  • Strong understanding of modern applied AI capabilities and their integration into real-world systems.
  • Experience in establishing governance and responsible use practices for emerging technologies.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on technical depth with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Nice to Have

  • Experience deploying technology solutions in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding and developer experience improvements.
