About the Role
We are looking for a Freelance Industrial Designer - Remote to join our innovative team at Kirin. This role focuses on developing consumer hardware products that interface with AI agents. As a Freelance Industrial Designer, you will work on the physical design of these products, ensuring they are manufacturable and practical for real-world use.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the industrial design of consumer hardware products, particularly the smart ring.
- Develop form, structure, and detailed design solutions that balance aesthetics with functionality.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable.
- Support CMF (color, material, finish) exploration and make informed decisions based on design requirements.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback and project constraints to refine designs.
- Deliver production-ready design outputs, including CAD models, renders, and manufacturing guidance.
- Communicate with factories or suppliers as needed to validate designs and ensure feasibility.
Requirements
- Background in industrial design or a related field.
- Experience designing consumer electronics or small hardware products.
- Understanding of structure, materials, and basic manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work independently and iterate quickly on design concepts.
- Comfortable working as a freelance or project-based contributor.
