Open World QA Analyst - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're hiring an Open World QA Analyst to join our team at CD PROJEKT RED. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to the development of immersive, story-driven RPGs. As an Open World QA Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our games by focusing on narrative and open world gameplay.

What You'll Do

• Develop Open World QA test plans and strategies with a focus on world event functionalities and traversal integrity.
• Write and maintain test cases and checklists covering dynamic events and environmental storytelling.
• Create and organize documentation to support team-wide knowledge sharing, including test processes and known issues.
• Collaborate with design and technical teams to verify implementation of dynamic world behaviors.
• Conduct thorough testing of large-scale gameplay, focusing on environmental transitions and system interactions.
• Identify, debug, and report issues, tracking resolutions and verifying fixes.
• Analyze data related to performance and stability of open world systems across different gameplay states.
• Provide actionable feedback on world layout and narrative readability to enhance the open world experience.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a QA role, preferably in open world or systemic gameplay.
• Proven experience in creating and verifying detailed test plans and checklists.
• Skilled in documenting test processes and managing bugs using tools like JIRA or TestRail.
• Deep understanding of game systems, including exploration loops and dynamic world events.
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
• Genuine passion for video games and narrative-driven gameplay.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing games across multiple platforms (PC, consoles).
• Familiarity with different narration systems and commercial game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Basic knowledge of automation tools for QA purposes.
