About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Field Interviewer to join our team at the National Centre for Social Research. This Field Interviewer remote position allows you to engage with communities and conduct vital research interviews on significant topics such as health, housing, and transport. You'll be using a tablet or laptop to guide conversations that capture the real experiences of daily life in Britain.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews in various locations, ensuring the collection of accurate and meaningful data.
  • Utilize technology effectively to record responses and manage interview schedules.
  • Engage with participants in a friendly and professional manner to encourage open discussions.
  • Travel to interview locations, managing your time efficiently to maximize productivity.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks related to interviews, including follow-ups and data entry.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid UK driving license and have sole use of a car.
  • Class 1 Business insurance is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK is required.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
  • Reliable home broadband and a laptop or tablet with a camera.
  • Ability to work at least 18 hours per week, including flexibility for weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
  • Strong verbal and written English skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in customer-facing roles such as retail, hospitality, or sales.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay of £20-£30 per interview, with additional admin fees and holiday pay (12.1%).
  • Travel time compensation at £4.68/hour for travel to work areas.
  • Mileage reimbursement at 36p per mile (up to 10,000 miles).
  • Bonus opportunities of £250 after your launch, with additional bonuses at two and four months.
  • Flexible part-time hours that fit around your other commitments.
