About the Role

Join Northrop Grumman as an Engineer Propulsion - Level 4/5, a pivotal role in our Mechanical Engineering Energetics team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. In this role, you will engage in various ordnance, pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor analysis & integration activities, making a significant impact on our launch vehicles.

What You'll Do

  • Perform analysis, design, or testing of propulsion systems for launch vehicles and missile systems.
  • Apply engineering principles and industry standards to develop innovative propulsion solutions.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design and analysis processes to support mission requirements.
  • Conduct hands-on testing of pneumatic and hydraulic components through functional and environmental tests.
  • Lead the Integrated Product Team, managing supplier change notifications and hardware acceptance reviews.
  • Conduct pre-launch engineering reviews and assess flight readiness.
  • Engage with internal and external customers to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Support new business initiatives and prepare proposal materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 years; or a PhD with 4 years.
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Security clearance.
  • Experience with Matlab and Python is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical data to stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental testing and data acquisition equipment.

Nice to Have

  • Active US DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Knowledge of failure investigation techniques.
