Electrical Design Technician - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Technician to join our team in a remote capacity. As an Electrical Design Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical. What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software.
• Develop 2D and 3D electrical drawings and panel models to meet project specifications.
• Generate and manage technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and device lists.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, ATEX, NEC, and other relevant electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Perform essential electrical calculations, such as load calculations, voltage drop, current capacity, and power consumption.
• Select and specify appropriate electrical components and materials for projects.
• Review supplier drawings and verify technical accuracy before project release.
• Support engineers and project managers during the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical problem-solving efforts.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure proper version control of drawings and documentation.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (minimum 3-year technical program).
• Proven experience in electrical design and drafting, particularly with control panels and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks Electrical.
• Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and industry standards.
• Ability to perform basic electrical calculations effectively.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
