Director of International Legal - Remote
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of International Legal - Remote to lead our legal operations across multiple jurisdictions. In this role, you will ensure compliance with international laws and regulations while supporting our global business strategy. You will work closely with various departments to manage legal risks and provide strategic legal advice.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all legal aspects of international operations, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Manage contract negotiations and drafting for international agreements.
- Provide legal guidance on data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legal considerations into business strategies.
- Lead a team of legal professionals and manage external legal resources.
- Monitor changes in international law and assess their impact on the organization.
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Support corporate governance and compliance initiatives.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 10+ years of experience in international legal matters, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of data privacy laws, compliance regulations, and contract law.
- Proven experience in managing legal teams and working with cross-functional departments.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with legal research and competitive intelligence.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite, Workday, SQL, or Python.
- Familiarity with international tax compliance and transfer pricing.
- Knowledge of growth marketing and localization strategies.
