DevOps Engineer - Remote Opportunity with a Leading Energy Association

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated DevOps Engineer to join our team at the Bundesverband der Energie-Abnehmer e.V. (VEA). This DevOps Engineer remote position will allow you to contribute to our mission of supporting energy-intensive companies in their journey towards climate neutrality. With over 150 passionate employees, we are committed to enhancing the quality and quantity of our consulting services.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, configure, and maintain server and network components with a focus on stability and security.
  • Administer and manage virtual infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Kubernetes, Ansible, and GitLab.
  • Develop and implement IT security policies to ensure data protection and compliance.
  • Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT peripherals including computers, notebooks, tablets, and network printers.
  • Provide technical support and training to IT users, ensuring they are equipped to utilize our systems effectively.
  • Collaborate with external IT service providers to analyze and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT guidelines.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a completed training as an IT specialist for system integration or a comparable qualification.
  • Initial professional experience with server systems, networks, and virtual infrastructures.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes, GitLab, Ansible, and Linux is desirable.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in IT security management.
  • Familiarity with cloud services and deployment strategies.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation.
