About the Role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team at Drexel University, focusing on a GPU-accelerated computing platform. This DevOps Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, particularly in AI model training, while collaborating with a dynamic team.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, configuring, and managing the cluster using tools like Ansible and Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to the Kubernetes platform layer, focusing on networking, storage integration, and security policies.
  • Assist in building out storage infrastructure, including iRODS and Globus for data transfer.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the stack, from bare-metal boot problems to container orchestration bugs.
  • Write and maintain operational and user-facing documentation.
  • Coordinate with Drexel’s IT teams on shared infrastructure concerns.
  • Contribute to web application development for a user-facing portal for project management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in DevOps or related fields.
  • Experience with Linux systems administration and configuration management.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash).
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes and bare-metal provisioning.
  • Familiarity with Ansible, Warewulf, RKE2, and Kubeflow.
  • Web application development experience.
  • Experience in an academic or research computing environment.
