Data Quality Assurance Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team at AtkinsRéalis. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while ensuring the quality and accuracy of data across our systems. As a Data Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in validating data transformations and business rules within our data pipelines.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans for data pipelines, transformations, and integrations within Azure.
• Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across source and target systems.
• Test data flows in Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL, monitoring performance and reliability.
• Develop automated test scripts using Python, SQL, and Azure DevOps, integrating QA processes into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify and document data issues, collaborating closely with data engineers and developers to resolve them.
• Maintain a defect log and contribute to root cause analysis for data discrepancies.
• Partner with data analysts, architects, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and documentation.
• Document test cases, results, and QA metrics for reporting and compliance purposes.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in data QA or testing roles within the data and analytics domain.
• Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in data validation techniques.
• Familiarity with Azure services, including Data Factory, Synapse, and Azure SQL.
• Experience with test automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and PyTest.
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
• Exposure to enterprise reporting environments, particularly Power BI.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience in finance or operational data domains is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with data governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions and architecture.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages or tools relevant to data testing.
