Data Engineer I - Remote Position at Certinia
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer I to join our team at Certinia, a leader in Services-as-a-Business solutions. This Data Engineer I remote position will allow you to work from anywhere while contributing to our DataOps team, which is pivotal in building and maintaining data systems that enhance data accessibility and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Create data models that define how data should be organized and structured.
- Implement ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) pipelines to ensure data is clean, structured, and accessible for analysis.
- Implement data storage solutions including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Using data visualization tools, create interactive dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to our stakeholders.
- Perform data analysis to obtain knowledge and insights for all departments.
- Implement data quality monitoring processes and tools to ensure data accuracy and availability.
- Maintain and enhance data documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is essential.
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, DataOps Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong Python skills in a data-driven environment (pandas, numpy, AWS SDK).
- Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Familiarity designing and developing unit and integration tests (pytest).
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Computing services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Basic understanding of BI platforms (SF CRM Analytics, Quicksight).
- Strong analytical skills for handling unstructured datasets.
- Familiarity with continuous delivery using tools such as Jenkins.
- Solid understanding of Relational Database, Data Warehouse, and Data Lake technologies.
- Professional working proficiency in English is essential.
Nice to Have
- A Master's degree in Computer Science is desirable.
- Experience with ETL processes or data models in data-driven environments is desirable.
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM objects and processes is desirable.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation, management, best practices, and automation strategies is a plus.
- Knowledge of workflow management platforms such as Airflow is desirable.
- Knowledge of Terraform is a plus.
- Knowledge of data governance and metadata management tools (e.g., OpenMetadata) is a plus.
