About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Operations Manager to join our team remotely at Smithfield Foods. In this role, you will oversee our Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring the protection of our IT and operational technology environments. You will lead a talented team to enhance our cybersecurity posture and respond effectively to threats.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the Security Operations Center (SOC), overseeing day-to-day cybersecurity monitoring, detection, and response activities.
  • Serve as Incident Commander for critical cybersecurity events, coordinating recovery efforts to minimize business impact.
  • Oversee continuous threat detection, analysis, and mitigation efforts, ensuring alignment with emerging adversary tactics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT and business teams to communicate cybersecurity risks and response strategies.
  • Develop and enhance SOC processes, playbooks, and procedures to drive operational excellence.
  • Manage and optimize enterprise security technologies, ensuring effective operation of SIEM, EDR, and incident response platforms.
  • Mentor and train SOC analysts, fostering a high-performance culture within the team.
  • Track and report SOC performance metrics (KPIs and KRIs) to leadership, using data-driven insights for strategic decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external security partners and service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience in cybersecurity operations.
  • Deep knowledge of security operations, threat detection, incident response, and hands-on experience with SIEM and EDR tools.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex security incidents under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of translating complex security concepts into clear language for diverse audiences.
  • Proven success managing relationships with third-party vendors and internal partners.
  • Proactive leader who adapts to evolving threats while driving process improvements.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud security solutions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in the food industry.
