About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist - Remote to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge in cybersecurity to provide critical infrastructure support and guidance. You will be instrumental in enhancing our cyber defense strategies, ensuring the security of our systems and data.

What You'll Do

  • Provide expert consultation on cyber defense infrastructure, focusing on vulnerability assessments and incident response.
  • Utilize tools such as SIEM for monitoring and analyzing security events.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk management assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Develop and implement security protocols in compliance with NIST RMF standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security measures and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and training programs for staff on cybersecurity awareness.
  • Support technical infrastructure management, including Active Directory, Linux, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment on security initiatives and project management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related field.
  • Proven expertise in cyber defense infrastructure and incident response.
  • Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST RMF.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM, CEH).
  • Experience in educational technology or workforce development.
  • Knowledge of software security assessment and static application security testing (SAST).
