About the Role

We are seeking a Community Outreach Team Leader to join our team remotely. In this role, you will manage a dedicated team focused on community engagement and safety initiatives. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our outreach programs effectively reduce fire risks and enhance the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Prevention Officers and Prevention Practitioners in your team.
  • Work in various settings outside of the West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS), providing one-to-one support for individuals.
  • Manage a defined caseload, ensuring effective support for individuals with complex needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with professionals responsible for the health and support needs of adults, children, and young people.
  • Design and review processes to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365 applications to manage information and communications effectively.
  • Oversee team performance, attendance, and administration.

Requirements

  • A qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing staff and resources to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Proven experience in community engagement and support.
  • Understanding of health inequalities and factors that increase vulnerability to fire.

Nice to Have

  • A qualification in Health and Social Care or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Experience in community safety and health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and Local Education Authorities.
  • Experience working with both young people and adults in support or educational settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, Word, and Excel.
