Claims Specialist (Travel & International Damage) - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Claims Specialist (Travel & International Damage) to join our dynamic team at Helvetia. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex claims in the travel and international damage sectors. As a Claims Specialist, you will engage in negotiations with claimants and international partners, ensuring high-quality claims processing.

What You'll Do

• Conduct telephone and written negotiations in multiple languages with claimants and international partners.
• Analyze, review, and ensure correct and high-quality claims settlement.
• Handle complex claims independently in travel, motor vehicle, and liability insurance, even in extraordinary situations.
• Organize and find solutions for incidents such as accidents, breakdowns, travel interruptions, medical incidents, or international liability cases.
• Collaborate and exchange information with internal departments such as field service, brokers, product management, and external assistance partners.
• Manage seasonal high claims volume efficiently and carefully.
• Contribute innovative ideas to improve processes and participate in projects.
• Provide professional support and guidance to external partners.

Requirements

• Commercial training as a minimum requirement.
• Experience in claims processing, ideally in travel/holiday insurance and/or experience with motor vehicle and liability cases.
• Professional certification as an insurance specialist is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Empathetic personality with a strong customer focus, capable of guiding clients through challenging situations.
• Independent, networked, and responsible action with the ability to make informed decisions.
• Clear, goal-oriented communication style and polished written expression.
• Excellent German and very good English; additional languages such as French and/or Italian are a plus.
