Chemical Analyst Intern - Petrochemical Sector

About the Role

We are seeking a Chemical Analyst Intern to join our team at Intertek, a global leader in Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification (ATIC). This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the petrochemical sector while working remotely. As a Chemical Analyst Intern, you will be involved in conducting chemical and physical analyses on petroleum products, biofuels, and other soil and underground products.

What You'll Do

• Support the execution of chemical and physical analyses on petroleum products and biofuels, adhering to applicable methodologies and standards (ASTM, ISO, UOP, etc.).
• Collaborate on the routine maintenance and verification of laboratory equipment, following the programs and guidelines set by the technical team.
• Contribute to the preparation of reagents and solutions according to operational procedures and laboratory methodologies.
• Assist in recording analytical data on dedicated sheets and in the LIMS system, ensuring accuracy and traceability of information.
• Work alongside the team in maintaining quality system documentation, control charts, and laboratory material inventory.
• Participate in sample management, from receipt to preparation and storage, following safety procedures and traceability protocols.
• Engage in training activities to develop technical and operational skills in the analysis of petroleum products and biofuels.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Chemistry or related scientific disciplines.
• Good knowledge of the English language.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Attention to detail, reliability, teamwork spirit, and a focus on safety are essential.
