Cargo Operations Inspector - Remote Opportunities

About the Role

We are seeking a Cargo Operations Inspector to join our team at SGS. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in the maritime sector, ensuring the safety and quality of cargo operations. As a Cargo Operations Inspector remote, you will play a crucial role in supervising and managing the loading and unloading of bulk cargo from vessels at the Port of Castellón.

What You'll Do

• Conduct safety checks using the Ship/Shore Safety Checklist to ensure proper cargo transfer.
• Inspect the loading and unloading processes of refined products, gases, crude oil, and petrochemicals.
• Take samples and measurements from tanks to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Draft reports detailing the status of supervised operations.
• Ensure compliance with SGS safety regulations and client facility standards.
• Monitor truck operations, control timings, and assess cargo conditions.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders including stevedores, transporters, vessel crew, and terminal personnel.
• Participate in coordinating pilot services for vessel berthing and departure.

Requirements

• Education: Completed ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education).
• Location: Must be based in Castellón.
• Valid B1 driving license and personal vehicle for commuting.
• Basic knowledge of Office applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• No prior experience required; this is an entry-level position.

• Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.
