Backup System Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Backup System Engineer to join our team remotely. With your expertise, you will help elevate our backup infrastructure to new heights. What You'll Do

• Engineer, manage, and operate our backup infrastructure both on-premises and in the public cloud.
• Develop the on-prem infrastructure while evaluating and implementing cloud backup solutions.
• Act as an interface to other teams to ensure new requirements are technically implemented.
• Support colleagues in implementing backup concepts effectively.
• Engage in projects or sub-projects, offering you varied tasks as a Backup System Engineer remote.
• Drive automation efforts and ensure smooth day-to-day operations while sharing on-call duties with the team.
• Play an active role in business continuity management (BCM) at Swiss Post.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of proven experience as an IT Backup Engineer.
• Deep knowledge of Commvault and familiarity with Commvault HSX.
• Experience with Linux (REHL) and Windows administration.
• Understanding of BCM and hybrid deployment.
• Knowledge of cloud migration processes.
• Familiarity with technologies such as M365, SAP HANA, RDS, Kubernetes, virtualization, Azure, AWS, LAN, firewalls, MS SQL, MySQL, NAS, and object storage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to express yourself clearly at different levels.
• Experience working in an agile framework with Scrum or similar methodologies.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in additional languages such as German, French, or Italian.
• Experience with advanced backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
