Automation Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure & CI/​CD (AWS) - Remote

About the Role

Join Cambridge International Systems, Inc. as an Automation Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure & CI/CD (AWS) remote position. You will be part of a dynamic global team dedicated to tackling complex challenges in defense and security. This role is crucial for designing, automating, and securing scalable cloud infrastructure that supports U.S. government missions.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain repeatable infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and rollback using tools like GitLab CI and AWS CodePipeline.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and diagnostic solutions (CloudWatch, AWS Config, Splunk) to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Facilitate the integration of AWS cloud services with on-premises systems and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and lead automation initiatives.
• Write detailed documentation for architecture decisions, automation processes, and compliance artifacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a focus on computer science.
• 10 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 14 years with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited program.
• Working knowledge of FISMA and NIST 800-53.
• Implementation of IAM policies, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
• Ability to assess and mitigate risks in cloud environments to meet evolving government requirements.
• Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Professional AWS Certifications: DevOps Engineer Professional or Solutions Architect Professional.
• Associate AWS Certifications: SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate.
• Project/Process Certifications: ITIL or PMP.
