Assistant Underwriter - Power (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Underwriter - Power to join our team at MS Amlin. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to the operational delivery of our strategy in the Power sector. As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in making sound underwriting decisions and developing full underwriting authority in a short timeframe.

What You'll Do

• Analyze and write risks in accordance with agreed parameters, focusing on profitable long-term decisions.
• Support quotes and underwriting for allocated accounts, operating within agreed authority parameters.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs.
• Assist in arranging and attending client meetings to drive business growth.
• Represent MS Amlin at corporate and networking events, upholding our values.
• Track and report developments affecting the Power market to senior underwriters.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters to develop pricing models and ensure accurate risk assessments.
• Liaise with the claims team to ensure timely resolution of claims situations.

Requirements

• Relevant underwriting experience in Power underwriting or claims.
• Established relationships with brokers and solid knowledge of the power market.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to create solutions.
• Diploma in CII and working towards completion of ACII.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Sound financial and commercial acumen.
• Strong Excel and numeracy skills.
• Self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
