AI Software Engineer - Space Sector (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an AI Software Engineer - Space Sector (Remote) to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. What You'll Do

• Conduct research and development on novel algorithms, focusing on Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Supervised Learning (SL).
• Rapidly prototype solutions using Python, JAX, and PyTorch, and transition them to embedded C++ and CUDA.
• Develop Physics-Based Autonomy for mission planning and decision-making processes.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to solve complex astrodynamics planning and control problems.
• Lead verification and flight readiness campaigns to ensure safety and performance standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience in AI engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of RL/SL algorithms and their application in real-world scenarios.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance.
• Experience with simulation development for space vehicle applications.

Nice to Have

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with physics-based AI applications in aerospace.
• Current/Active TS/SCI clearance.
