AI App Development Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an AI App Development Engineer to join our innovative team at Wellness at Work AI. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere, particularly during India-friendly hours. As an AI App Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing our AI wellness companion, Lumina, aimed at enhancing the wellness of professionals and students who spend long hours on laptops.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain the frontend of our high-performance desktop application using Python and PyQt, while transitioning components to a more efficient native stack using C++.
• Implement, optimize, and deploy computer vision models that run efficiently on user devices, focusing on minimizing latency and resource consumption.
• Design and manage our scalable cloud backend infrastructure for essential services, including user data backups and account management.
• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code with a strong emphasis on performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with a small team of experienced engineers and product leaders to shape the architecture of a complex system.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
• Proficient in both Python and C++, capable of writing high-performance, production-ready code.
• Experience in building applications with distinct frontend, backend, and database components.
• Practical experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and proficiency in SQL databases.
• Ability to work within complex software architectures and build high-performance applications.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A growth mindset with a proactive approach to learning new technologies.

Nice to Have

• Experience in desktop application development and familiarity with Win11 and MacOS.
• Knowledge of computer vision libraries like OpenCV and model inference runtimes like ONNX Runtime.
• Experience in performance optimization and debugging in desktop applications.
• Familiarity with microservices-based architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
