VP of Information Security - Remote Leadership Role

About the Role

We are seeking a VP of Information Security to join Brightside Health's remote team. As the VP of Information Security remote, you will lead our security initiatives and ensure compliance with industry standards while supporting our mission to deliver life-saving virtual mental healthcare.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop a high-performing InfoSec and IT team, fostering a culture of security and compliance.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on security, risk, and compliance strategy.
• Maintain and mature HITRUST certification (MyCSF) and SOC 2 Type II attestation.
• Oversee vulnerability management, threat detection, and remediation efforts.
• Guide secure architecture decisions in partnership with engineering and product teams.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Deliver a seamless IT experience for a fully remote workforce.
• Drive a culture of shared responsibility for security and privacy across the organization.

Requirements

• Experience leading Information Security in a HIPAA-compliant, high-growth tech environment (100+ employees).
• Proven success guiding organizations through HITRUST (MyCSF) certification and SOC 2 Type II attestation.
• Background in telehealth or digital healthcare is required.
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud environments, SIEM, and security monitoring tools.
• Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
• CISSP preferred; CRISC or strong risk management background is a plus.

• Experience managing and mentoring small, high-impact teams.
• Comfortable operating as a player-coach—balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
