Vice President of AML & Financial Crime - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Vice President of AML & Financial Crime to join our team at SMBC Group. This remote Vice President of AML & Financial Crime role offers a unique opportunity to lead and manage the daily operations of the Transaction Control Team, part of the First Line of Defence within the Operations & Administration Department. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our financial crime prevention measures are robust and effective, supporting our clients in their transition to a sustainable future.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the Transaction Control Team, overseeing Sanctions Screening for transactions and customers.
• Conduct Fraud Screening and Quality Assurance, ensuring high standards of performance and compliance.
• Perform performance reviews for team members, identifying knowledge gaps and arranging study sessions to enhance team skills.
• Support end-to-end testing for system changes, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
• Collaborate closely with other teams within the Operations & Administration Department to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Proven people management experience within Financial Crime Investigations, with a strong ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex issues clearly to senior management.
• Experience in end-to-end business testing, including system enhancements and workflow changes.
• Relevant professional certification, ideally from the International Compliance Association (ICA) or equivalent.
• Strong decision-making and multitasking abilities, with a focus on risk management and strategic leadership.
