About the Role

Santa Monica Ford is looking for a Used Car Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team! This Used Car Automotive Service Technician remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a well-respected brand that honors the past while investing in the future. You will be part of a team that values service to each other and the world as much as to our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional services needed.
  • Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ford Certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred.
  • B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair.
  • Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills and basic computer competencies.
