Temporary Principal Engineer - Barron River Bridge Upgrade Project
About the Role
We are seeking a Temporary Principal Engineer to lead the Barron River Bridge Upgrade Project in Far North Queensland. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a flagship infrastructure project until June 30, 2031. As the Temporary Principal Engineer, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and stakeholder expectations.
What You'll Do
- Manage the delivery of the Barron River Bridge Replacement project, including contract administration and design verification.
- Provide specialist technical expertise and advice to professional and technical staff.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and ensure successful delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Ensure alignment with project scope and best practices.
- Mentor and supervise non-RPEQs within the project team.
- Potentially manage other QTRIP infrastructure projects as time permits.
Requirements
- A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognized by Engineers Australia.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory.
- Current holder of a Class C driver's license.
- Experience in managing large infrastructure projects with significant bridge components.
- Ability to navigate environmental and logistical challenges in sensitive environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience in delivering programs of work under a Collaborative Project Agreement (CPA).
- Previous experience managing conflicting stakeholder viewpoints.
- Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
