Tax Lawyer - Corporate Focus (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a driven and talented Tax Lawyer - Corporate Focus (Remote) to join our Corporate practice at CMS Sofia Lawyers Partnership. This role offers the opportunity to advise domestic and international clients on complex transactions, including M&A, corporate governance, restructurings, joint ventures, and regulatory compliance. As a Tax Lawyer, you will be part of a collaborative culture that encourages professional growth and teamwork.

What You'll Do

• Provide specialist tax advice across corporate transactions and commercial matters.
• Advise on all tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, reorganizations, and demergers.
• Conduct tax due diligence and assist clients with tax compliance obligations.
• Review and advise on the tax implications of commercial contracts, partnership, and shareholder agreements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser on tax matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues across various teams to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary advice.
• Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory developments in tax law and share insights with the wider firm.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in law - Bulgarian qualified with admission to the Bulgaria BAR.
• At least one year of prior experience in tax law at a reputable law firm.
• Proficiency in Bulgarian and English, with strong legal research and writing skills.
• Good knowledge of local and EU tax laws.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
• Analytical and critical-thinking skills.

• Additional specialization in Taxation.
