About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Software Developer - Remote to join our innovative team at Smile Digital Health. This role is pivotal in driving high-impact projects that enhance global health through advanced health data management solutions. As a Staff Software Developer, you will lead technical initiatives and mentor junior developers, ensuring robust technical design and implementation of our FHIR-based data liberation platform.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and implement core application features that improve healthcare data management.
• Lead tasking sessions for new features and provide high-level design and estimates for projects.
• Mentor and coach junior developers to foster their growth and technical skills.
• Analyze and solve complex technical challenges within the healthcare technology sector.
• Drive software development best practices and establish high coding standards.
• Collaborate with various business areas to develop solutions for interoperability and performance.
• Act as a key technical leader for projects, influencing technical decisions across the team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development.
• 5+ years in a senior or staff-level development role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
• Experience in healthcare technology is preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare data formats and standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to drive technical decisions and influence project outcomes.
• Experience with unit and functional testing.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of FHIR standards and interoperability.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a tech team.
