Software Quality Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Vistage is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Software Quality Engineer remote to join our QA team. This role is ideal for a dedicated individual contributor who excels at identifying complex defects through meticulous manual and exploratory testing. As a key member of our QA team, you will work directly within our core technology stack, including the Salesforce platform, WordPress, and various proprietary applications. Your primary responsibilities will include designing comprehensive test documentation, executing rigorous test plans, and collaborating closely with remote development teams to ensure our software products are reliable, functional, and provide exceptional value to our global membership.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain detailed test plans, comprehensive test cases, and use cases covering functional, regression, and integration requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and developers to understand user stories, technical designs, and ensure testing aligns with business objectives.
• Maintain and update test documentation and QA procedures to reflect current software features and requirements.
• Execute manual, exploratory, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across various applications in an Agile environment.
• Test integrations between systems such as Salesforce, WordPress, and proprietary tools, focusing on data flow and cross-platform functionality.
• Log, track, and manage defects meticulously using JIRA/Xray, providing clear reproduction steps, environment details, and expected outcomes.
• Verify bug fixes and new deployments, ensuring quality standards are met without regressions.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure a consistent user experience across platforms.
• Conduct basic data validation through SQL queries to ensure data integrity within backend databases.
• Communicate effectively with remote teams, providing updates on testing progress, risks, and issues while managing multiple priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Quality Engineer or in a similar role.
• Deep expertise in manual testing, including exploratory, regression, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with QA tools such as JIRA and test management solutions like Xray or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience testing on the Salesforce platform, including custom applications and data integrity verification.
• Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and browser debugging tools.
• Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries for backend data validation.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment, managing workload independently across multiple time zones.
