About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer - Accelerator Operations Technology to join our dynamic team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. What You'll Do

• Analyze and solve complex problems related to software, hardware, applications, and operating systems.
• Engage in programming, scripting, troubleshooting, and system configuration.
• Provide ongoing support to accelerator teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Participate in the software engineering lifecycle, contributing to system interoperability and architecture analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and document results effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong understanding of compiled languages such as C, C++, and/or Java.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, bash, Tcl, and Perl.
• Experience with Linux systems and tools, as well as CI/CD processes using git.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with software debugging tools such as gdb or valgrind.
• Knowledge of SQL relational databases and REST API development.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and virtualization technologies.
