Site Reliability Engineer (Python-Focused) - Equities Trading Technology

About the Role

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (Python-Focused) to join our high-impact team in Hong Kong. As a key player in our equities trading technology, you will ensure the reliability and performance of our trading systems. This Site Reliability Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to work in a mission-critical environment where your contributions will directly impact trading outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Own the reliability, availability, and performance of equities trading platforms and services.
• Develop high-quality, production-grade Python code for automation, tooling, and system optimization.
• Partner with developers and trading teams to deliver production-ready trading applications.
• Debug complex, time-sensitive production issues in live trading environments.
• Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability for trading systems.
• Lead incident management and drive improvements through detailed post-incident analysis.
• Design and evolve scalable, low-latency infrastructure supporting equities trading.
• Champion SRE principles across trading and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems).
• Advanced Python expertise with the ability to build and maintain production-level systems.
• Experience working in high-performance or trading environments, ideally equities.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, version control).
• Solid Linux knowledge and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN).
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and containerized environments.
• Proven ability to debug and operate distributed systems under pressure.
• Experience with databases (SQL or similar).

Nice to Have

• Direct experience supporting equities trading systems.
• Exposure to low-latency systems or market data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with JavaScript/CSS or internal tooling interfaces.
