Senior Wells Engineer - Remote Opportunities

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Wells Engineer to join our dynamic team at ExxonMobil. This Senior Wells Engineer remote position offers you the chance to leverage your expertise in well management while contributing to innovative energy solutions. You will play a crucial role in providing engineering support across ExxonMobil’s global portfolio, focusing on wellwork, well integrity, and plug and abandonment (P&A) operations.

What You'll Do

• Provide engineering support in well management, ensuring safe and cost-effective operations.
• Collaborate with Wells teams to design and implement solutions that enhance operational performance.
• Generate detailed plots and reports to communicate engineering insights and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and international regulations during all operations.
• Support well integrity assessments and remediation planning to maintain operational safety.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all activities, ensuring that safety protocols are followed.
• Identify and implement new technologies and tools to improve wellwork efficiency.
• Work closely with engineers and operations personnel on global asset teams to deliver synergistic solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in petroleum, mechanical, chemical, civil, or electrical engineering with a minimum GPA of 7.
• 3-10 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, with a focus on well management.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical design and operating parameters.
• Experience in writing procedures for wellwork operations, including rigless and rig-based methods.
• Field experience at a rig site or wellsite is preferred.
• Familiarity with engineering applications such as Cerberus, WellView, and Tableau.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and flexibility to work in shifts.
• Position is based in Bangalore with potential for international travel.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and budget forecasts for wellwork activities.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Spotfire.
