Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) remote to join our Cybersecurity Risk Management Unit (CRMU) within the FBI. This position is pivotal in overseeing the security of FBI IT systems and ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity policies. As an ISSM, you will lead a team dedicated to safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining the integrity of enterprise cybersecurity operations.

What You'll Do

• Oversee a portfolio of FBI IT systems, ensuring they maintain a valid Authorization to Operate (ATO).
• Lead and coordinate Security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities, guiding system owners through the SAA lifecycle.
• Implement and assess security controls in compliance with federal standards, including NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5.
• Conduct security control assessments and compliance monitoring to support system authorization and continuous monitoring programs.
• Provide strategic cybersecurity guidance and recommendations to senior leaders regarding risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in cybersecurity compliance and RMF authorization activities.
• Hands-on experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) for federal information systems.
• Knowledge of assessing security controls in Federal Information Systems NIST SP 800-53A.
• Ability to coordinate and monitor work across multiple projects effectively.

Nice to Have

• Preferred certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
• Experience in network, cloud systems, and application development.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
