Senior System Architect - Trading Infrastructure (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior System Architect - Trading Infrastructure to join our innovative team in Amsterdam. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our trading infrastructure while working remotely. As a Senior System Architect, you will play a pivotal role in transitioning our systems to a new environment, leveraging your expertise in performance-critical systems and software engineering.

What You'll Do

• Map existing systems and define a target-state architecture.
• Establish governance frameworks and lead the adoption of AI tooling across engineering, trading, and business functions.
• Define architecture principles and standards to ensure sustainable and self-maintaining documentation.
• Take ownership of system migrations and help define a future-state blueprint aligned with the firm's 2030 goals.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background in performance-critical systems.
• Proven ability to navigate undocumented or legacy codebases (C++, Python, MSSQL, SSIS/SSRS, MongoDB).
• Experience with system migrations is a significant advantage.
• Architecture experience with a track record of working autonomously.
• Able to manage complex stakeholder communication across development teams, traders, and business.

Nice to Have

• Depth in databases, Kubernetes, low-latency systems, distributed systems, messaging platforms, or Linux infrastructure.
• Comfortable working with C++ 17 and Python at a conceptual and systems level.
• Kubernetes and DevOps experience is a plus.
• AI experience is useful but not a hard requirement.
